WIT IEEE is the Wentworth Institute of Technology Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. We are an official student branch of the IEEE, the largest association of technical professionals in the world.
We participate in, plan, run, share, and fund various projects primarily incorporating electronics, electromechanics, and programming. However, we accept and have a place for every major at Wentworth. Our projects allow for a practical approach to our primary goal of furthering technical education, and you can read more about them here.
WIT IEEE aims to provide a community in which members can learn and make the most of their technical ability, experience, and interest. Following in the footsteps of the IEEE, we are also “Advancing Technology for Humanity” by focusing on providing resources and an environment for extra-curricular, practical, project-based learning and engineering innovation at a student level.
Membership is open to all students of Wentworth. We pride ourselves on having a wide array of projects, meaning that we have a place for all skill levels and majors.
We are happy to be able to provide a wide variety of resources to our members. We have an open and welcoming community that is happy to help you make the most of things like our lab space and community, and more detail can be found on our resources page.
We would love it if you were to join our meetings! We’re on a summer hiatus, so we don’t have any at the moment. Once we get back into the swing of things in the fall, however, we have general meetings once weekly. Meetings for your project are determined by the project on an individual basis, and depending on the complexity of the project, may be more or less than weekly.
If you would like to get in touch with us or be added/removed from our mailing list, you can find more information on our Contact page.
